Sony VAIO laptop doesn't sleep when lid closed - YouTube Sridhar Rao

Even when the laptop is set to sleep when the laptop's lid is closed, this one refuses. It drains battery even when the lid is shut. Neither Sony nor Microsoft seem to have an answer. Sony says, it is an issue with Window 8 OS. Microsoft says, it is an OEM license, to be addressed by Sony. What is the customer expected to do?
